Big Bad Izzy ~ bol!

I know it's been a while since I have written to you but hey it's been one heck of a summer here in the great state of Alabama. Wow it's been too hot for a Yorkie to get out, but I have been busy doing all kinds of things. Speaking of being busy, uh, well, yes I have done it again. But please keep in mind I have been pretty good for a long time. Hey what can I say it's in my genes to get in trouble every now and then. Sooooooo here is my latest adventure.
Hannie watches over his new little dog sister, Izzy
First off let me explain that I have not actually gotten used to having someone to look out for. That being one long haired Chihuahua named Izzy which I have "fondly" named the "little evil one". Yes I know she had a hard time to begin with and you all prayed for her and God got her better. I know that. I really do and try to be patient with her, but as Max would say "Holy Moly" there is just so much a guy can do and take.

The other night mom let us out because we had to tend to the call of nature. And boy did nature call. It was on a megaphone. I heard it calling ALL THE WAY DOWN THE BLOCK. bol bol bol. I know that later when mom was screaming that we had plenty of trees, grass and shrubs in OUR yard she was right but there is one tree about 6 blocks down the road that has my name on it.

Well anyway on with the story. I was just trotting down the middle of the road heading to my destination when I heard the pitter patter of tiny little feet beside me. I looked to my right and there was the "little evil one" following me. Now I know me going down the street is a no no but now when "THE BABY" goes down there it is almost time to call 911.

My first instinct was to stop and take her home. My second was to let her come on with me with the anticipation that her butt would get in trouble. After careful thought the "mischief pup" came out. Yes friends I wanted her little butt to get in trouble. There I said it. So there we went, 8 little paws, making our way to my favorite bush.

You know there should be a written law that should a new dog move into the neighborhood all other dogs have to be notified. It really should be. I mean it is something that is really important. But alas it isn't and so we weren't. Hmmmm.

I guess at this time I should mention that all dogs are really territorial about their trees, shrubs and grass. Apparently some more so than others. Well I am going to tell what happened to the best of my recollection and memory which is not really great considering I was rocking and rolling and getting my butt kicked.

We arrived at our destination with me feeling a combination of being happy and cocky. Happy that I was going to get to relive myself and cocky that "the Duchess" was going to get it for being out of the yard hehehe. I ran straight to "my tree". Got steady on my 3 paws and lifted my 4th leg as to have a direct aim at the tree. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Izzy's hair was raised up on her back. I have seen this before on her as she is one mean little chit but at first it did not concern me. I was still positioning myself for that perfect aim. Then I heard a growl. Now the hair was not concerning but if you add it together with the growl I immediately knew to scan the area.

Our model, Nala is actually a female dog, but it seemed perfect to add her pic to Hannie's story! As I was scanning, my 4th leg still in the air, I saw him. It was a beautiful black and tan Doberman. I should mention again that I am a Yorkie and the little chit is a Chihuahua. Commonly referred to as "Dober snacks".

Well I am not the sharpest tool in the shed but I do know when to stay and when to run and this was definitely one of those times to run. There was a multitude of growling, barking, yelping, screaming and numerous other sounds coming from that yard.

Through it all I managed to run like the wind with "The Little Duchess" right beside me. Then just as I was almost to the house I looked and the little chit was gone. Yes I said gone, not there, missing, vanished. I stopped dead in my tracks to see if I could see her.

There she was in all her glory running BACK down the street, hair up on her back, barking like a maniac. Apparently common sense does not kick in till later in life for Chihuahuas. Ok it was then I realized I had to make a decision. I could go on to the house and pretend I did not know where she was or I could turn around and go back down there with her and take the chance of getting my butt kicked.

By the way, in case I have not mentioned I did not aim completely well during our first episode with the dober. I was ALMOST finished when I saw him but not completely. Just wanted to tell the most accurate account of the encounter.

Well I chose to go help or get Izzy. One reason being I actually love the little devil and the other being mom would probably not live if something happened to her and there goes all my belly rubbing and snacks.

Well off I went charging like a knight in shinning armor. When I got there Izzy was standing there barking and growling at the Doberman and it was obvious that he was not concerned with her other than trying to determine how many chomps it would take to take her out. So we did like any well trained attack team would do. We both attacked him from different directions. We bit his feet, which is all we could reach, nipped his hind leg then did what we were trained in combat to do. Run like heck.

Let me tell all of you that don't know much about Dobermans, they can run like a dang greyhound. He caught us, he rolled us, he slapped us and he turned us into the little ussies we were. I will say this much though. That Duchess Isabella is on heck of a fighter. I was proud of the little chit. She kicked his butt!! She was hanging on his leg biting away. hehehe

Anyway, we lived through it without many scratches and the only really bad thing was yes we both got a bath. Bol bol bol.

Hannie rests after his harrowing adventure with his little sister, Izzy.

So that was probably the end of my summer adventures and I look forward to sharing all my fall adventures.

Love to you all from Hannibal Lector and Duchess Isabella "Izzy" . xoxoxox
